Some months ago, in February, I know I sorted the christmas decorations for the move, I went through the stuff to choose what was worth sending from London to Houston and what wasn't... clearly the 220v string lights had no business in Houston and I would give them away, the broken or really old baubles would have to be thrown away... And what about the old homemade decorations ? The ones from my first christmas with Mr Bear, the year I blew my entire Christmas Budget on a Tree and had to make the decorations from scratch with paper, scissors and glue ?... I must have been in the middle of those thoughts when I stopped sorting to go see to something else that required my attention... Then Mr Bear came in and "finished packing up". Yesterday I opened the box for the Christmas decorations : Oh look 5 pounds of unusable string lights ! Oh look a plastic bag full of good for the trash baubles ! Oh look there's almost nothing usable in there actually.
So now that I think about it, I vaguely remember walking back in the room back in February and realizing that the packing up had been done with no sorting at all... I promptly forgot about it. Don't bother yourself over things you can't change.
So now, we're off to buy some stuff to decorate the beautiful tree we bought there : http://www.highstarfarm.com/, cause it looks a bit naked right now.

Sugar High

Saturday morning, I am slowly waking up and reading my mail while the girls are watching a movie... Little Octopus arrives, climbs on my knees, stand up to face me, grabs my face in her hands and makes me look up at her...
"- Mom, I'm hungry, I want sugar
- Huh ? Sugar ? What with sweetheart ?
- Nothing, just sugar"
Ok, fair enough.
